I kinda miss bottoming out on pennies and small bumps. Then again, I kinda don’t.

On a slightly related note: When I was using Facebook I joined a rather large Accord club. It was full of people who fit either of those two gentlemen above. I was surprised by how friendly everyone was. They weren’t talking trash about anyone’s car, they were all very polite and willing to help people with their problems and were up to just talking about cars in general. Fantastic group of people.

Back in my Facebook days I was on a Prelude group like that. It was pretty cool at first, but eventually it became a dumpster fire. I was still in it when I got rid of my FB, but by the end I didn’t pay attention to it and the people in the group had stopped paying attention to me. Now I just stick to a couple of forums.

They have infected almost every corner of car culture these days. That right hand one is in almost every scene for almost every car. The vast majority in the FoST groups are that guy, too. They’re not quite to the Subaru or VW level (the people that drive these cars make me not want to have any association with them), but they’re pretty damn close.

Yep, they were pretty common at local car meets. Hondas, Nissans, VWs/Audis, Mazdas, Mercedes, Scions, Subarus, Foci, you name it. Needless to say I don’t go to local car meets anymore.

Most of the ones like the guy on the left are in their 30s now and are either married/starting families or are like me and just do their own thing with one or two people. I have a friend with a FoST who doesn’t look like the guy on the right, and I talk to a few other import guys from time to time.
